むかしやまさる

Long ago, a rabbit, a monkey and a fox lived on a mountain.

The three were the best of friends and played together every day.

One day on the mountain path, an old man said, "I am so hungry I cannot walk."

"Let us bring you something to eat," they said, and ran off into the mountain.

The monkey climbed the trees and brought back armfuls of fruit.

The fox went to the river and brought back fish.

But the rabbit searched for a long time and found nothing at all.
